Marathon Trip Check List
This is the check list I have used for the last couple of marathons:
Nutrition
- Energy bars for breakfast
- Sports drink (familiar type)
- Carbo loader drink (familiar type)
- Magnesium
Relaxation and comfort
- Ear plugs
- Allergy medicine
- Music
- Something to read
Run preparations
- Marathon participation confirmation (needed at Expo)
- Target lap times every 5 kilometers (on HB monitor or wristband)
- Moisturizer for feet (apply evening before)
- Vaselin (apply just before leaving to race)
- Skin tape for nipples
- Stronger sports tape toes
- Timing chip and attachment strips
Leaving for the race
- Cash
- Phone
- Comfortable back pack
- Dry clothes
- Compeed
- Toilet paper
- 6 or 7 gels and gel belt
- Sports sun shades
- Marathon shorts
- Marathon shoes
- Marathon socks
- Marathon shirt
- Rain coat (wear to start if cold)
- Gloves and cap (if cold)
Just in case for afterwards
- Ice
- Pain killers
- Flip flops
- Band aid
- Compeed
- Energy drinks and bars
